Why is the song 'Beautiful Girls' by Sean Kingston so popular?

If you personally enjoy the song. Please explain why that is. Do you enjoy something because its 'catchy' and it sticks in your mind? Is it like the Crazy Frog ringtone in that respect? In my opinion its trash. But its consistently referred to as the Summer anthem of 2007 or similar nonsense. I want reasons!!!

2. it is so over rated.. i'm sick of listening to it.. i don't even understand the words he's saying.. he's like eating every word he's saying.
3. Maybe it's because it samples from the song "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, which is a very popular song.
4. I love Sean Kingston, he is a fabulous artist and he turned big from one song and his song 'Beautiful Girls' is really catchy and I love the rhythm. That's why I love it.
5. Personally... I am not a fan. He really doesn't have much talent in my opinion.

I was pretty upset when i heard this song for the first time because he couldn't come up with his own beat he had to use a classic- Ben E Kings *stand by me! alot of songs that sample old classics seem to all do well because the original has already done all the work!! and some younger generations have no clue is was sampled!!! stop ruining classics!!!

11. Well, first, it gets played on the mainstream radio stations. Second, it's reggae. Reggae and summer fits well, I believe. Third, catchiness and hooks are some main things in pop songs. I mean, it isn't my "favoritest" song of the whole world, and I don't particularly like his voice. And I think "Stand By Me" is so much better, but it isn't me to say that the song sucks, since music is opinionated.
